It would seem Dr. Blake Clifton was destined to land here at Alpine Orthopaedics years ago, when he chose to specialize in adult and pediatric orthopaedic sports medicine.
“I have wanted to be an Orthopaedic Surgeon as long as I can remember. I grew up around an orthopaedic surgeon and have had several surgeries myself. “
Dr. Clifton completed his surgical residency at Texas Tech, where he occasionally worked with their Red Raider football program. Following this program, a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine took him and his family to the University of New Mexico, where he worked with UNM athletes across several sports. His background in diverse sports and specialization in both pediatrics and adult procedures lends itself to serving a broad population of potential patients.
“I believe everyone deserves to have a chance at overcoming unexpected injuries or disabilities and I hope I can offer some help in patients achieving their goals.”
In addition to his speciality, Dr. Clifton also performs total joint replacements in the hip, knee, and shoulder. An athlete himself, he understands what it takes to make a healthful recovery and get back on the trail, in the water, or on the slopes in the best shape possible.
“If I had to choose my favorite sport or activity it would be skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer.”
